The Crooms AoIT Alumni Association is pleased to announce the renewal of the Athletic Grants Program for the 2018-2019 school year.

The renewed grant comes after Crooms AoIT Alumni Association Founders’ Society member and Class of 2006 graduate Julian Gordon expressed interest in providing financial support for program this year.

Since 2012, the Alumni Association's Grants program has provided athletic clubs, sports teams, and school departments with financial support. “Even in these improved economic times, school budgets remain constrained when it comes to extracurriculars,” honorary board member and regular contributor to the athletics grant program Frank C. Bracco (Class of 2006) says, “so we all grateful for Julian’s support in helping ensure the students of Crooms AoIT continue to have access to quality sports programs as both Julian and I did during our high school days.” Mr. Gordon was a part of the inaugural Crooms AoIT bowling team during his time at Crooms AoIT and can be still seen at bowling lanes around Central Florida.

The Association's grants committee will oversee the review and disbursement of the grant funds, and the application will be released later this month.

Crooms AoIT Class of 2005 Alumni Lizaan Dennis has released her debut book of poetry entitled, "I Never Knew How to Tell Her." Divided into three parts, this debut collection of poetry is all about finding the right words. Author, Lizann Dennis, takes the reader on a journey of her own truths discovered through new relationships, at the ending of old ones, and all the sex in between. Her styles vary widely and express a complicated range of emotion including pain, lust, but most of all, love.

The Crooms AoIT Alumni Association is proud to announce the winners of its two scholarships for the Class of 2018.

The Crooms AoIT Alumni Association Tech Innovation Scholarship worth $750 is being awarded to Allison V. This year's field of Innovation Scholarship applicants was the largest the Alumni Association received to date. The review committee was impressed by the quality of all of the applications. Allison’s submission stood out due to the commercial success she has already achieved with her technology skills. As part of her application, Allison highlighted several websites that she has built for various businesses that are now online and helping these business owners achieve their entrepreneurial goals. Allison will attend Rollins College in the Fall.

The Crooms AoIT Alumni Association Community Scholarship worth $750 is being awarded to Rachel P. This year again marked a crowded field of applications for the Community scholarship, with each applicant showing how volunteerism and community service is important to them. Rachel’s ability to communicate in her essay her long volunteering history and what it means to her won over the judges. Rachel will be attending the University of Florida in the Fall where she intends to pursue her interests in mechanical engineering and fine arts.
