Crooms' BPA Team Sees Massive Success at State Conference
Top students from Crooms Academy of Information Technology attended the Business Professionals of America (BPA) 2011 State Leadership Conference, "Stand Out From the Crowd," in Lake Buena Vista, FL, February 4-6, 2011. The Crooms chapter members joined over 500 other conference delegates from across the state to participate in state level business skills competitions, workshops, general sessions, and the state officer candidate campaigns and elections. In all, 30 students placed high enough to move on to National Competition. One of our students, Vasu M., even placed in Parliamentary Procedures test and has been appointed the 2011-12 Business Professionals of America State of Florida Parliamentarian (the second Crooms students to do so in the last 7 years).
"The national conference to be held in Washington, DC, in May will be the culmination of a school year's worth of business skills education and training which members of the local chapter of Business Professionals of America at Crooms have received," said chapter advisor, Peggy Aycock who teaches Business Software Applications, Economics, and Leadership. The following members placed in respective events and will be moving on to National Competition in Washington, D.C.:
